Build A Squishy is a free creative toy that runs entirely in the web browser — nothing to install, no account to make, no ads, no chat.

What your kid does here

Designs a squishy from millions of combinations, watches it form, and plays with it — squeezing, stretching, and cutting it open with satisfying, gentle sound. There are challenges to try, a collection shelf to fill, and a "trading floor" where computer characters (never other people) offer trades for creations.

What it never does

No accounts or profiles, no chat or messaging, no contact with other players, no ads, no location. There is nothing to buy on the web; the iOS app offers one optional one-time unlock (Squishy Deluxe), always approved through the App Store's own purchase flow and never through prompts aimed at kids. Creations are saved on your own device and are never uploaded. Sharing a squishy with a friend works through a link that contains only the toy's "recipe" — it carries no personal information and never touches a server. On iPhone and iPad

There is also a native iOS app — the same toy with smoother motion, gentle haptics, and everything working fully offline. It is free on the App Store, under the same rules: no ads, no chat, and the one optional unlock sits behind a parental gate. If your kid plays on an iPhone or iPad, the app is the better home for their collection.

For classrooms

The site works on school Chromebooks, needs no sign-in, and is quiet by design — many kids use it as a calm, hands-busy break. If your school uses an allowlist, the only domain needed is buildasquishy.com. Questions: [email protected].
